Sorry for the late post… this was my one morning to sleep in and it was glooooorious. Another crazy weekend ahead (WEDDING!) so let’s call the sleep a preemptive measure.
Brian and I used to frequent this little hole in the wall Mediterranean restaurant, Ali Baba’s, on Greenville Avenue. Last time we tried to eat there they had plastered newspapers all over the windows and we assumed that the place had shut down. So I was super excited to discover that it actually just moved closer to us, taking over a former Carraba’s space in Lakewood. After a long bike ride with Joy yesterday, I ended up meeting my mom there for lunch.
Although it used to be menu-only, now they have a buffet during weekday lunches. It was pretty cheap (around $10 each, drinks included) and the buffet seemed to include EVERYTHING on the menu.
Here’s my plate, with hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, tzatziki, fattoush, and dolmas. And yes, I ate allllll of it:
I probably should have just stopped there, but I did go back for chicken and roasted veggies. Ugh, portion control I was stuffed.
The rest of the day was spent hanging out with mom. I dragged her to Northpark with me and finally found a dress to wear to the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner (this in brown… didn’t even see the green!) so now I just need to find shoes. Brian had a happy hour after work so I whipped up some Goddess Garbanzos from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan and toted them over to mom’s, along with that veggie soup I made earlier in the week. Here’s my not-very-exciting dinner. That’s part of a leftover veggie quesadilla (from Matt’s) at the bottom:
