So it’s been like 48 hours since I’ve posted a Chloe pic, so I’d say we’re way overdue- no?

This morning I got up, made some breakfast, read my favorite blogs and then realized that I’d never gotten Chloe out of bed (it’s too tall for her to jump down). I went in the bedroom and didn’t see her, but then the duvet moved… and here’s what was burrowed underneath:

She looks like she wants to bite me.

Finally managed to crack open The Art of Simple Food today. We talked about braising meat in class last week, so I was excited to find a recipe for Chicken Legs Braised with Tomatoes, Onions and Garlic. Instead of legs I used bone-in breasts. You basically just braise the chicken in olive oil, remove the chicken and sautee some onions, deglaze the pan and add some tomatoes and herbs, and then return the chicken to the pan to simmer with broth.

Here are the onions post-deglazing:

And the final dish, served over polenta:

This was kind of bland :( Maybe I did something wrong… but it was just too simple. A little grated parmesan did help, though.

I got my hair cut and colored today. I planned on just doing my standard highlights and getting an inch trimmed off the ends, but I ended up with waaaaaay blonder, SHORT hair.

A la What Not To Wear…Before:

After (Makeup helps, too… and not having a fish dangled in front of your face):

Different, but I like it… let’s just hope that I can actually fix it on my own tomorrow! That’s the hard part.

Training Update: Monday and Tuesday I just did 3.5-4 mile easy runs, but today we did a 4 mi hill workout at Flag Pole Hill, a 250 yard gradual incline close to my house (there’s a Runner’s World article featuring this hill here). I felt like I was going to DIE; it was pathetic. But hopefully mixing it up with this hill/speed stuff will ultimately help… right?

OH- did anyone watch Project Runway tonight??? Um, could Kinley be any whinier? And sassing the judges = not cool. My money’s on her going home next week.

Witness Chloe’s confusion towards Suede constantly talking in third person. She’s on Team Leanne.

    Aw, I missed Chloe :)

I really like the cut and color difference! Of course you still looked fab before, but there’s nothing like a new haircut to make you feel so fresh! I love that feeling.

Those chocolate chip pumpkin muffins from your last post look incredible!

  3. Love the cut and the color.

Query: Could I add your recipe to the Blogger Secret Ingredient list for this week? It was tomatoes. If you have no idea what I’m talking about you can go here: http://www.hangrypants.com/2008/09/she-says-the-new-blogger-secret-ingredient/ if you are interested.

I love seeing pictures of Chloe because she’s cute and as a cute name.

Thank you for the Chloe pics. she is sooooo cute.
I love your new hair style, so pretty and stylish. Even though I have short hair, every time I get it cut I have to come home, wash it and make sure I can style it myself. I have had some pretty horrible chop jobs in the past – thank goodness I found a stylist who knows what she is doing. Have a great day.

Bender- The muffins are SO GOOD. I don’t know if it’s this recipe or if I just normally overcook them, but they’re really moist and yummy.

Hangry Heather- Of course!! Feel free to add that recipe to the list. Great choice of secret ingredient, btw. LOVE tomatoes :)

That’s too bad. I hate when recipes don’t work out without seeing the recipe it’s hard to know what might be missing.
