For all of you guys who were expecting the usual sparkling wit and fascinating food commentary, I apologize… but today’s post is dedicated to a much more worthy cause. As many of you know from my near-constant bitching and moaning, I’m currently training for the White Rock Marathon coming up on December 14. What you may not know is that the marathon benefits Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Not only is Scottish Rite renowned for their excellent care, but they treat children with orthopedic and neurological conditions at no charge to the patient’s family. As you might imagine, they rely heavily on donations to continue their mission- and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to raise funds for such a great institution. Can you think of a better reason to run those 26.2 miles??
You can check out my donation page here:

There is no minimum amount to donate and every little bit helps! Even if you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider passing along the link to anyone you think might be interested.
Thanks for reading! You guys inspire me daily and I’m excited to be able to share this with you. I have photos and restaurant reviews ready to go for tomorrow, so it will be back to Heather Bakes business as usual.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at heatherbakes@gmail.com.

A very worthy cause. Scottish Rite has helped hundreds of thousands of children. You are awesome Heather!
Just another in the long list of reasons I’m constantly impressed by and proud of you.
So cool! I’m checking it out.
I’m with Brian – I am very impressed by you! I will check this out.
If it can wait until payday, I’m all over it. Good girl!
Double what Brian and Jenn said.
