(We just watched last weekend’s SNL on tivo. The title was between that and Edible Pampers…)
I’m blogging from the study tonight. We never use this room and I don’t know why, except for the fact that it doesn’t have a tv. But it does have Hulu.
Today was kind of a boring food day, but I promise to make it up to you guys with a couple of exciting tidbits at the end. But don’t just skip to the bottom. I see you- sneaky, sneaky.
Breakfast was a quick bowl of oats with banana, dried cherries, ground flax and almond butter. I was so tempted to throw in a few chocolate chips, but no. Not on pastry class day. That would be wrong.
(Okay, I took photos of both breakfast and lunch, but they have somehow disappeared from my camera…?? This is not my day. Apologies.)
Although class did turn out to be kind of a bust today. We put together a rice pudding that took too long to bake and will therefore be eaten tomorrow, assembled a chocolate bread pudding (also for Tuesday), and a caramel sauce. We’re scheduled to make blueberry steamed pudding with hard sauce tomorrow as well. I’d never heard of this dish until I started dating Brian; his mom bakes it for Christmas every year and I think Brian teared up a little when I told him we’d be making it this semester.
I took the train today and didn’t make it home until almost 3. At that point I was STARVING, but luckily we have an obscene amount of leftovers in the fridge.
Lunch: Open-face pulled pork (from my mom) sandwiches with pickles, leftover vegetables from the veggie tray and hummus for dipping.
<Insert photo of delicious pulled pork sandwich here>
And one of Paula Deen’s Monster Cookies for dessert. An entire JAR of PB, chocolate chips, raisins, M&M’s and oatmeal in a batch. So you know these are good.

It was really nice out today, so I headed out late this afternoon for a 5 mile run then got a little homework done before Brian got home. For dinner: more leftovers! Turkey chili, half a wheat roll, and more veggies.

My parents stopped by tonight so my dad could help us fix the garbage disposal (don’t ask). For some reason, Chloe LOVES my dad. I don’t know why. My mom goes nuts over the pug, telling her how much she loves her and what a gorgeous little granddog she is, and Chloe just stares at her. My dad at best tolerates Chl0e, but as soon as he comes over she is in his lap:

So weird.
Okay, on to the exciting stuff.
1. You guys have heard me mention/gush over Sonya Renee jewelry on the blog before (like here). LOVE it. Gina, the owner/designer, emailed me today and said that if you go onto the website between now and February 13 and enter the coupon code “bemine”, you’ll get 50% off the ENTIRE SITE. So click on www.sonyarenee.com right now and buy me something pretty.
2. Do you like almond butter? I do. But it’s too damned expensive so I usually end up settling for the peanut stuff instead. Well Heather and Mark over at Hangry Pants are hosting an almond butter giveaway. Just click on the link and follow the directions to enter to win a jar of Zinke Orchards Natural Almond Butter.
So there you have it. Hope everyone had a great Monday!

What’s your opinion on social/professional networking sites (facebook, myspace, linkedin…)? Do you use any of these, and if so, how much time do you spend on them?
I’m on all three of the above, but the only one that I actually check is facebook. To which I am addicted.

I use Facebook to chat with my sis sometimes.
It is one of my pet peeves. I won’t get started and I will spare everyone my bitter diatribes. But on the flip side Blogging is fun to read. So does that make me two faced?
I’m sooo excited about the sonyarenee jewelry sale!! I am going to stock up. You better act surprised on your birthday.
I decided to boycott myspace in 2009, but now I feel totally unconnected. So maybe I’ll give facebook a try. Why is it better than myspace?
Sorry to have missed your super bowl party! Looks like it was a fun time.
I have facebook. Why aren’t we friends?
I also enjoy hulu v. much. I watched that whole season of party of five available on there in 1 day in July.
Okay, first official post from Allison (Lauren’s teacher friend)…I’m shamefully addicted to facebook. However, not to the point where I update my status or anything on my own profile, I just like seeing what others are up to (a little stalkerish, I admit). And I could never figure out mySpace. Apparently I’m not quite techno-savvy enough for that one…
You all might be on BigSight.com and not even know it. That site creeps me out…
Joy- Facebook is far superior to MySpace, mostly because it doesn’t suck. I hate myspace. Next time we hang out we should totally set up a facebook page for you- and then I can tag you in the 2,927 photos I have with you on there.
Hangry- DONE! You’d better not deny my friend request.
Allison- Helllllooo! Don’t be ashamed of the facebook stalking. Lauren and I both do it, too.
I like facebook. But, I can’t really stay interested in it for very long stretches. Don’t know why…
haha I am still laughing at Chloe, although we always knew your dad had an animal magnetism.
I joined facebook because a friend in New York asked me to and now mostly all my friends are my daughter’s friends. go figure. But lately I am having trouble with my wall.
