You know you have a good book club meeting when four hours and four bottles of wine later, everyone is still sitting around singing the “Smoke Free Class of 2000″ song (Anyone else heard of this?? Okay, me neither) and the pug is passed out snoring on the couch. No one outparties Chloe.
Our book club book was Garlic & Sapphires by Ruth Reichl. It was my 2nd time reading this- and just as good this time around. If you’re interested in restaurants, food writing or even psychology, you’ll love it. Of course we discussed the book for about, oh, 10 minutes.
Three of the book club members: Allison (with the Annie’s dressing), Camille and Julie (modeling her salad):
Julie’s yummy spinach dip- which she LEFT AT MY HOUSE. Baaaaaaaaad Julie! But Brian thanks you.
Pizza and salad:
Not pictured: Lauren’s Paciugo Gelato, Jill’s cupcakes and Camille’s Hershey Kiss cookies. And Lauren, Jill and Anna.
The latest Food Network magazine had this recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter & Jelly Bars that I was dying to try. It was kind of a pain in the butt to make: a layer of chocolate, crushed saltines and crushed peanuts; a layer of jelly; a layer of peanut butter frosting; and a layer of chocolate ganache. I burned the first batch of the bottom chocolate layer and had to start over.
They were worth the effort! I love anything PB & chocolate. And they’re REALLY good cold.
So Chloe would like to show you guys her new outfit…
Do you like it? I’m not sure how crazy she is about the new tee, but she’ll have until December to get used to it.
