Pregnancy Brain

I’m going nuts these days. First, stuff seems to be disappearing off my blog. Like today, for instance, I referenced my blogroll- only to find out that it was GONE. A few weeks back my dad pointed out that the map feature was missing. I can only assume that I’ve somehow accidentally deleted these when moving things around on the site, but still.

Then today I started harassing Brian about what he’d done with my cell phone.

“I just handed it to you,” he claims.

Um, NO you didn’t.

And then not 5 minutes later I go to get my sunglasses out of my purse and lo and behold:

phone

Oh, of course my phone is in the glasses case. Where else would it be? WTH?? Eh, let’s just keep our fingers crossed that this only lasts for (approximately) 24 more weeks.

I babysat today starting at 5:50 this morning, so breakfast was extra early. Green Monster- minus the peanut butter:

I was so good and packed leftover pasta for lunch today… but then one of the kids suggested Chick Fil A and it all went to hell in a handbasket. Actually I didn’t do too badly: chargrilled chicken sandwich and a side salad. At least I stayed away from the waffle fries.

Their side salads are pretty decent as far as fast food restaurants go, but I made a bad choice on the dressing. Fat-free honey mustard which was just syrupy and gross. Lesson learned.

The rest of the day was spent toy browsing at Target and going for a swim. I know- tough life, right? This evening we met my parents for dinner at The Blue Goose on Greenville. For some reason we rarely eat here, but I love their salsa and homemade tortillas. I had a make-your-own combo with a chicken taco, chicken tamale and verde enchilada:

SO. STUFFED.

Then we headed over to my grandparents’ for a visit, played with the menagerie at my parents’ house (2 cats, 2 dogs) and drove home. Which leads us to right this minute- Brian is snoozing in the guest room and I’m blogging in the den. Oh, the exciting life we lead…

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! I think we might end up at Neighborhood Services for dinner tomorrow night. I’ve heard great things but have yet to try it- hopefully the wait isn’t quite as long as it’s rumored to be.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

So, I didn’t realize nonpregnant (and not ever gonna be again) people also get “pregnancy brain”. I am so relieved to have a name for it. :)

    Happy Anniversary celebration!

The wait is always pretty long at Neighborhood Services. It is good though. They don’t take reservations, per se, but if you call and tell them approximately when you are going to be there, they will go ahead and put your name on the list of those waiting. We did this a time we went and it seemed to drastically cut down the amount of time we waited for a table. Granted, this was more mid-week, but it was shortly after they opened.

    Congrats and have fun.

Heather I hate to say it but the pregnancy brain just turns into mommy brain! It does get better though and you will eventually stop placing the milk in the pantry and the cereal in the fridge. :)

Oh and congrats on the boy, so exciting!

I wish I had advice on the pregnancy brain thing. But alas, no babies here.

Please tell me you’re going to the Healthy Living Summit? I’m not sure with the pregnancy thing and flying? You’re on my list of “must-meet-someday” people. That’s right – you’re totally a celebrity.

I had a Chick Fil A salad on Friday, too. But, I chose the spicy dressing and chicken strips instead of a sandwich. About as tasty as fast food can be!
