Couch Potatoes

So last night was interesting. I fell asleep with Brian next to me and the dogs baby-gated in the living room, then woke up face to tiny flat face with a pug and no Brian. He was on the couch with the other dog. Poor guy. Apparently both Chloe and Sophie started raising hell around 1am… which I was oblivious to, thanks to my awesome ear plugs.

Breakfast this morning was Oroweat Double Fiber wheat toast spread with a new find:

This cinnamon-raisin peanut butter was on sale at Target and it’s REALLY good. I love the texture (kind of crunchy-gritty, but in a good way) and the tiny raisins. Alongside I had plum. Did I mention that in an apparent moment of insanity I bought FOUR POUNDS of plums at Sam’s the other day? And I’m the only one that actually eats them around here. I think I had three today.

I met Brian for lunch at Mattito’s. I ordered the light chicken fajitas, which apparently translated to “chicken with a crapload of broccoli.” I barely made a dent in this and took the rest home. I’ll be a lady and not repeat what Brian said my car smelled like with the leftovers.

After lunch I headed out to Rockwall to Old Navy. It’s one of maybe 2 ON’s in the Dallas area with a maternity section. The good news is that EVERYTHING is on sale right now, and most of the sale items are an additional 50% off. I bought 2 dresses, a sweater, a cute top and 2 pairs of shoes for about $50. The kicker was the cute pair of metallic flats for $5. Woohoo!

Dinner was boring. Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patty on an Oroweat Sandwich Thin with hummus and baby spinach, a bowl of roasted red pepper and tomato soup (Pacific Natural brand) and baby carrots:

Not pictured: yet another plum.

After dinner we headed over to my parents’ to feed cats/bring in mail… and then ended up at Sonic on the way home for Brian’s dinner (two extra-long chili cheese coneys- I got heartburn watching him eat that) and my dessert (Diet Dr. Pepper float). Now we’re settled in watching a long list of tivo’d shows:

  • Modern Family: Funny
  • Cougar Town: Ehhhhhh. Jury’s still out.
  • Glee: I really didn’t want to like this show, but it’s pretty damn funny. “Prenatal vitamins… take them three times a day or your baby will be ugly.
  • Top Chef: OH NO- Toby Young is back!!!!!!!! At least he held off on the metaphors tonight. I mean, aside from the bull testicle remark.

Favorite new show?

or alternatively,

Where did Heather put her sunglasses?

I’ve been looking for them ALL DAY. They are always in my purse and I’m starting to think that they fell out somewhere. It’s very, very sad.

The only new show I’ve watched is Glee and I LOVE it! Great cast, fab music, just a good time all-around. :)

  2. Matt says:

Even though it hasn’t started yet, and it technically isn’t new, I am going to predict that the new Real World/Road Rules challenge (seriously), The Ruins, is going to be my favorite. I don’t care what anyone says, I know those shows are formulaic and brain rotting, but I love them. All the meatheads screaming at each other and fighting coupled with all of the fame whores battling for camera time is just what I need to help me unwind at the end of my days. Starts next Wednesday and I cannot wait…

    Bummer about your sunglasses.

  3. Steph says:

I haven’t been able to find Cinnamon Raisin Swirl peanut butter anywhere! It looks so tasty too!

We don’t have cable, so I don’t know of any new shows, but The Office is my all time favorite :)

Good luck finding your sunglasses. Whenever I don’t know where mine are, I’ll find them on my head an hour later!!

  4. Rose says:

Are they stuck in the couch? underneath your driver’s seat in the car? in the refrigerator?

  5. Lauren says:

    Modern Family is hilarious!

  6. Evan Thomas says:

I thought Modern Family was funny too, but all the parts I laughed at I recognized from the previews, so I hope to see something new.
That’s a great peanut butter, especially on some cinnamon raisin english muffins

  7. Katie says:

    I love Glee!
I don’t love the light fajitas at Mattito’s. It doesn’t taste like fajitas at all and last time my chicken was so dry!

  8. Susan Hill says:

Did you look in the mirror to see the top of your head? No sunglasses? Did you look around your feet? Oh wait someone else might have to do that for you….hahahha I am so mean…
    Love to love ya.

  9. Naomi says:

  11. gammypie says:

I watch too many TV shows to have a favorite. I am thrilled with the new season of The Larry David Show. I was wondering if there would be a new one. No need to worry now.

I also love Mad Men, CSI Las Vegas, Greek, Entourage, New Adventures of Old Cristine, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, Hills, The City, House Hunters, Triple D, and too many more. Um, can you tell that we watch a lot of TV? Yep, didn’t think so.

I also really liked the new show Modern Family. I actually laughed out loud when he shot the boyfriend. That’s the sign of a good show because I just don’t do that. Glee is my kind of show too with all the music. Community was not so great, but I’m going to give it one more chance.

Now I have to catch up on my TIVO and watch the dramas I’ve recorded this week. Eastwick, Flash Forward, and I think one other. I’ll keep you posted.

  13. Hangry Pants says:

on top of your head? kidding.

check your sunglass compartment in your car. I leave mine in there and never remember.
