Reschedule

So is it bad that I opened that bag of crack Marshmallow Oaties on Saturday and finished it today? And I’m pretty sure that Brian didn’t touch ONE ‘mallow. That, my friends, averages out to three servings per day. Three wonderful, sugary servings. Sigh.

So after emptying out what was left of the bag, I decided that a “real” breakfast was in order: Almond butter and cherry spoon fruit on whole wheat.

I need to make another Whole Foods run soon because I’m now out of almond butter. Anyone want to chaperone in order to keep me off the cereal aisle?

So I told you guys that my 35 week OB appointment was today. Well, Brian and my mom have alternated accompanying me to these appts, and today it was mom’s turn. In true Gina style, we arrived promptly at 3:00 for my 3:20 appointment.

Fast forward to TWO HOURS LATER, when I’ve read every Oprah magazine in the whole damn place and have yet to see the doctor. There are several OBGYN’s in this practice, and you could tell who was there to see mine: the lady fast asleep/drooling in the corner and me. Finally after 5, a nurse came out to say that my OB had just rushed off for an emergency C-section and would have to reschedule for tomorrow. Awesome.

Honestly, I can’t get mad. That could be me in a few weeks (God forbid). The saddest part is that I COULD sit there and wait for two hours. Hey, I’ve got nothing going on. I did get a little hungry… but luckily dug this out of my purse:

The Spiced Pumpkin Pie Clif Bar. YUM. I’m not usually a huge fan of Clif Bars- too dry and artificial-tasting- but this one was really good. It was more like a piece of pumpkin bread with cream cheese frosting and raisins. Probably not the ideal lunch, but it worked in a pinch. Brian bought several of the holiday flavors at WF the other day so I may have to try them. He mentioned liking the Iced Gingerbread.

By the time we got home from the doctor it was almost 6, so I sadly (HA) informed Brian that we would have to go out to dinner. We ended up meeting my parents at Tony’s. I started with a side salad:

And ordered the Chicken Parmesan entree.

For some reason it tasted really off to me… this is awful, but the best way I can describe the taste/smell was mildewy. I have no idea what the deal was- my mom said that she could kind of smell it, but neither Brian nor my Dad thought that the taste was off. Anyway, the waitress was nice enough to switch it out for a plate of penne with meat sauce:

And she voided the chicken off of our bill, too. So it’s all good. I still love you, Tony.

And because the giant plate of pasta wasn’t enough carbs for the night, we hit up TCBY for dessert. I had a kids’ size Shiver with chocolate yogurt, bananas and PB chips.

Alright, off to bed because apparently it’s back to the doctor tomorrow morning. But first, here’s your daily dose of Chloe… at 12:30 in the afternoon and still in bed, I might add.

-SURVEY-

Have you ever sent back your meal at a restaurant?

This was actually the first time I’ve ever had to do this.

2 hours, eh? I’ve been there before. At least your doctor’s office had a decent selection of magazines to read.

I’ve sent dishes back before. It happens.

I’m more of a cashew butter person with cherry but almond sounds good. Chocolate sunflower butter and cherry is my newest obsession
I think most Clif Bars are dry, too, but I’ll have to try those if I see them. The maple nut are amazing and not dry at all
