Okay, it was between that and “Bookface.” Both The Office and 30 Rock were awesome. I almost peed my pants when Liz tried to use a candle for deodorant. Resourceful. Now we’re on to Project Runway.
I loved yesterday’s breakfast so much that I decided to do it all over again:

Plain yogurt mixed with pumpkin, topped with cereal, walnuts, dried cherries and honey. Don’t worry- I’m now out of plain yogurt, pumpkin and cherries so tomorrow will be more creative.
This morning I caught up on blogs, did some (tiny) laundry…

This shirt kills me. Some of Jack’s stuff is so teency that I can’t even figure out how to fold it.
After laundry I *kind of* starting packing for the hospital. EEK. I hit my “35/35″ today: 35 weeks along, 35 days left.
The goal of lunch was to clean out the fridge. The dregs of Sunday’s tortilla soup, plus I found this in the freezer:

Chicken and vegetable potstickers. I pan fried them for a few minutes. Kind of a random lunch, but it hit the spot!

After lunch I headed to Whole Foods… they were out of my crack cereal, but I did score a few more holiday Clif bars, some cashew butter, fresh brussels sprouts, brown rice, beans and chocolate milk. Speaking of, look what I chugged on the way home:

Brian had a happy hour after work, so I thought I’d probably be on my own for dinner. This morning HangryPants featured a recipe for Black Beans and Rice with Pumpkin Vinaigrette (originally from Megan’s Munchies) and it sounded really, really good… and simple to make. Despite that fact, I kept screwing things up- first I burned the rice, then I accidentally doubled the amount of balsamic in the vinaigrette. Even with all of my mess-ups, it turned out great! Probably too tart for most people, but you know how I love my vinegar.
Alongside was Cashew Ginger Tofu from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan. I’d made this before and for some reason the sauce didn’t thicken up. Tonight I baked it (uncovered) for a bit longer than before, and the sauce went from watery to perfect really fast. This would be GREAT over pasta… though I liked it a lot with the black beans and rice. The creaminess of the cashew sauce was surprisingly good with the tart vinaigrette:

Aww, Brian just gave me half of his frozen Twix bar. That’s love, people.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun HALLOWEEN!!!

Weekend plans?
No idea!! Saturday night we’ll hand out candy, Chloe needs a makeover ASAP (mani/pedi, bath… she’s stinky), and we have a few more baby chores to take care of.

Can Jasmine and Rasha come by? Maybe 6 or do you have dinner plans? We were going to do our neighborhood at 6:30.
What is Chloe going to be for Halloween?
Of course!! We have special Halloween bags for them- 6 sounds great… we’ll be around!
I want to make no bake cookies on Saturday. I’ve been craving them big time. Need chocolate and peanut butter….stat!
A trip to Sam’s would be nice too. We were just there last weekend and already I have several reasons to go back. Oh, I love me some Sam’s Club!
pumpkin vinegrette sounds delish!
ahhh I love all the holiday flavored bars out there in the stores!
happy friday!
Cashew Ginger Tofu sounds delicious. I should check out that Vegan cookbook since it seems half the recipes on blogs come from it
The actual valey where Organic Valley is located is just a few miles from my home town! So cool to see their products on a blog in a location so far way!
I loved that part of 30 Rock!!! I tried to act it out for Ben, but it wasn’t as funny.
I used Maybelline Volume Express mascara 3x waterproof. I swear by it. I’ve tried many, but always go back
Another sign of a good recipe is that you can mess it up and it is still great! Just throwing the flavors together makes it great.
