Whew, I’m tired!!! I intended to spend a couple of hours straightening up the house, no big deal. Fast forward to 5pm, when I JUST FINISHED cleaning. And now I’m ready to pass out.
Anyone else notice that my yogurt combos are getting bigger and bigger? Pretty soon I’m going to start eating out of mixing bowls:
This was a nice fall-ish bowl: Fage, chopped honeycrisp (only 1 left!!), Quaker Cinnamon Oatmeal Squares, chopped walnuts, raisins and honey.
Since I just spent half an hour cleaning the kitchen, I didn’t feel like messing it up again for lunch. So… I busted this bad boy out instead:
My mom bought a combo pack of Kashi meals at Costco last week and we split them. The two flavors were this one and Chicken Pasta Pomodoro. I was torn on which one to try, so I consulted one of my favorite websites: Heat Eat Review. The site features taste tests and reviews of pretty much any frozen meal you can imagine. I could probably spend all day reading the reviews. They gave the Sweet and Sour 5 stars and the Pomodoro only 4. So Sweet and Sour it was.
I was impressed by the chicken, veggies and pilaf, but the sauce was a little too sweet. That was easy to fix with some soy sauce and sriracha. Sriracha fixes everything.
Okay, so I’m a huge idiot. As you know, tonight I hosted book club… and we had a ton of food and wine that I planned to take lots and lots of photos of for the blog. Well guess what? I didn’t take ONE picture. I was loading the dishwasher after everyone left and noticed my camera sitting on the counter. UGH!!! Totally forgot. Well I guess just use your imagination- we had turkey chili, cornbread muffins, crackers & dip, cookies and pumpkin pie. And it was all delicious. So delicious, in fact, that Chloe decided to knock the tub of cookies off of the coffee table and help herself to one (actually, she was probably aiming for the whole batch but I intercepted it in time).
Okay, sorry for the short post. I promise to do better tomorrow…
