Foodie Friend

Hey, hey. Guess what? I actually remembered to take photos of all my food today, just like a good little blogger! *Pats self on back*

Carolyn’s flight was scheduled to get in at noon, so I was up at 8 to get a few things done before picking her up (like cleaning out my disgusting car). Breakfast was a giant yogurt bowl- shocking, right?

You know the drill: Fage, apple, raisins, cereal, walnuts, honey.

I love having a foodie friend in town. As soon as I picked Carolyn up from the airport, we headed straight for food porn central: Central Market. And Carolyn loved it, as I knew she would. We ate in the Cafe and then browsed around the store. I was planning on ordering my typical CM Cafe entree (falafel wrap), but was surprised to see that they had changed their menu completely. So I ended up with the veggie wrap instead:

It was actually better than the falafel wrap. I loved the combination of veggie patty, tangy tomato pesto and pickles- and the yogurt dip is delicious, too. If you’re around Central Market (and I know you will be), you should definitely check out the new menu. Carolyn had an some kind of Asian chicken salad:

Afterwards we headed home and chatted until it was time to head to the Sonya Renee Open House. Oh my goodness, it was SO CROWDED… and I wanted to buy everything in the place. I managed to limit myself to a couple of goodies for myself:

And a few gifts, too. Sneaky, sneaky.

For dinner we headed to Matt’s for some good ol’ Tex Mex. I had the tostada compuestas with chicken- one with ranchero sauce and one with tomatillo:

Off to watch some Project Runway! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I take guests to Snuffers on Greenville and Campizis Egyptian Lounge on Mockingbird.

I’m so glad Carolyn is in town–can’t wait to see her Saturday!

I like to take out-of-town guests to the Bishop Arts area and also Lee Harvey’s. They seem like cool, local places–not tourist-y.

If you want tourist-y, you can always drag Carolyn to Southfork :)

    Matt’s sounds gooood.
