Wah-Wahhh

After such a great weekend, today was kind of a bummer day. I’m in a funk right now. I did get a really good night of sleep last night. Got up and made my favorite breakfast:

monyog

Container of Archer Farms Pumpkin Pie Yogurt (Target has new holiday flavors: Eggnog and Sugar Cookie!) topped with a chopped cameo apple, cereal, walnuts and dried cherries. It was fabulous- until about halfway through, when I got the worst case of heartburn EVER. It was awful. I stopped eating and chewed a few Tums, but as soon as I took another bite of yogurt, the pain came back. Ugh. I talked to my OB about it today and she reassured me that it’s a normal pregnancy symptom and recommended Zantac.

After that episode I was too scared to eat anymore. Instead I divided up Jack’s clothes for washing. The kid had THREE FULL LOADS worth of laundry!!! Keep in mind that most of his clothes are smaller than my hand… so that’s a LOT of stuff. He’s going to be a little fashionista.

This afternoon I had my weekly doctor’s appointment. Not too much to report. No dilation, no effacement. Nada. He’s in there for the long haul. *Sigh*

Afterwards my mom and I stopped by Corner Bakery for a quick bite. I had a bowl of tomato-basil soup:

For dinner Brian and I tried a restaurant near our house that I just noticed for the first time today: Primo Brothers Pizza. Their pizza had raves on Yelp, so we decided to give it a shot. Started with the house salad:

primosal

I loved the fresh mozzarella grated on top. Brian was sweet and split the Aloha Pizza with me. Pineapple on pizza is the best.

Though this is a little pricier than our standby (Tony’s), I loved the pizza! The crust was perfect: not super thin or thick, with a good amount of chewiness. The sauce and cheese tasted really fresh as well. They have a $5 slice, salad and drink deal that we might have to try next time.

I’m off to fold some tiny baby clothes. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer today… hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Thick or thin crust?

  1. I’d have to say thick crust. Thin crust is healthier, but I usually end up eating quite a bit more of it, so it evens out I guess.

Jacqueline had really bad heartburn the last weeks of her pregnancy. It is a normal, yet really annoying, thing.
    Thin crust for me.

I rely on Omeprazole for my heartburn fix. Does the trick every time.

I like both thick and thin crust. More often that not I order thin crust, but there are times when I feel like splurging and go all out on a big old deep dish! Mmm…

I hope you get to feeling better.

  4. THIN no questions asked..it does not compare 1 bit to thick crust!!

I got some of that archer farms pumpkin yog last week…it was tasty but a bit sweet for me!

    feel betterrrr xo

I like thin crust, and that pizza sounds awesome.
Sugar Cookie yogurt? Even though that sounds like just vanilla and sugar in yogurt, target finds a way to make it irresistable and delicious

Please make this post the last time you ever refer to our son as a fashionista.

    Heartburn is the worst.

Hard decision between thin or thick. I would probably lean toward thin, but I do love Chicago deep dish.

Wish we had those yogurts here :(
Don’t apologize for being down today – we all have those days – unfortuntately I have them alot…it sucks but I try to pick out 1 or 2 positive things in the day …no matter how small it is :) . Love your eats! And definitely thin-crust…although I used to adore thicker crust. Not paper thin of course – but as long as it’s loaded with sauce, cheese and veggies – I’m good!
