Hello loyal Heather Bakes readers. This is Brian blogging on Mrs. Heather’s behalf while she recovers from today’s events. Her eats today aren’t terribly exciting, but here’s the quick run down (without pictures) since that’s kinda what this blog is all about.
At 5:30 this morning we woke up to feed Heather, because she could not eat anything after 6:00 am. There are limited options at 6:00 on a Tuesday, so we headed to McDonald’s for breakfast. Egg McMuffin, hash brown, hot cakes, and a diet coke were on the menu for mom-to-be. By 6:45, Heather was back in bed. That would be the last solid food she would eat today.
At 2:00 we headed to the hospital, bright-eyed and eager. By 3:30 they were prepping Heather for surgery, and she was in delivery at 5:00. At 5:12 pm CST, this guy was born:
He was so excited to meet mommy that he tried to fight his way across to barrier to her.
Jack Niesman Baker was born 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 2o inches long.
Heather has been allowed ice chips, apple juice, and a very coveted popsicle (grape, her favorite). Tomorrow, if all goes according to plan, the solid foods will be back in play. Given that Jack needs his mom now, you will be treated to several guest posts over the next few days from some familiar food bloggers and some unfamiliar non-blogger foodies. Enjoy.
Just know that mother and baby are doing great. Dad is smitten.
