Hi Everybody!!! I’ve missed you guys. Thanks for all of the sweet comments last week! I’m not “officially” back to blogging until Wednesday night (more guest posts to come!), but Jack is happily hanging out in his swing right now, so I thought I would take a second to check in and say hello.
Everything is going great! As Brian reported, Jack Niesman Baker made his grand entrance last Tuesday at 5:14pm. I was pretty anxious about the surgery, but everything went amazingly well. Jack came out screaming. He’s so bright-eyed and alert for a newborn, it’s crazy. The recovery hasn’t been as bad as I thought it might be- I’m still sore and hopped up on pain pills, but nothing unmanageable.
We’re home now and Chloe is still trying to figure out what’s going on and if the kid is staying… she’s learned that walking on/pawing at the baby is NOT okay. Jack has caught on to nursing like a champ. He has a total frat boy schedule: eats and sleeps all day, parties all night. Hopefully we’ll get the day/night confusion cleared up in a few weeks.
It looks like Jack might be ready for a power nap, so I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity to sleep. I’ll leave you with a few pics of the little man… see you Wednesday!
Cuddling with Gia:
Ready to go home from the hospital…
And all wrapped up after his first bath… which was a massive FAIL. He hated it.
(How cute is that face??? This kid has me totally whipped.)

Oh my gosh! No wonder you’re smitten!! Such a precious guy … congrats to you all!
Thanks for the quick update– and PICTURES! Enjoy resting while Jack sleeps– I’ve heard that until you can adjust the little guys to “real world time” – you sleep every opportunity they give you!
He is handsome & I love his dark hair. Declan was pretty much bald for the first 2 years of his life – poor kid! I am so glad that mommy is feeling well. You have been in my thoughts since the big day. Thanks for giving us an update.
Enjoy every minute with that little sweetheart, it goes by so fast. Declan will be 5 next Monday – EEEK!!!! I can’t even believe it.
He is absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations! Enjoy this time with your husband and baby.

Yay for updates!!! Hope you get as much sleep as possible! Jack has SUCH a sweet face! I can’t wait to hold him again!
