It’s 8:00, and I’m so ready for bed right now it’s not even funny. We had quite the day today. I had my 2 week postpartum appointment this morning, so Jack and I were up early to get ready. Breakfast was a PB&J and coffee, but in the mad rush to get everything together I forgot to snap a pic. Oops. But if you’ve seen one peanut butter sandwich, you’ve seen them all- right?
Jack was a champ at the appointment. He stayed awake for the whole thing and happily sucked on his pacifier. My OB checked the c-section incision and said that everything looked great. It’s amazing; I was SO nervous about the surgery, and it really wasn’t bad at all. Getting in and out of bed the first couple of times was painful, but nothing unmanageable. I’d say that at this point I feel 95% back to normal.
There are many things that I missed while pregnant, but the top 3 were wine, sushi and ceviche. This afternoon Jack and I had lunch with my mom at La Calle Doce. This place has the best ceviche EVER. Mom and I split an order:
And I had the camarones veracruzana:
Which came with sopa de pescado:
Yummmm. Even better than I remembered. Next up: sushi.
At 2:30 we ventured to appointment #2- Jackster’s 2 week check up. He was a champ. He’s already grown an inch and gained 12 oz since we left the hospital… which means that I can start pumping, which means that Brian can take over a few feedings. Heck yeah. He also had a heel prick for a PKU test, which almost had me in tears- he slept through the whole thing, naturally.
And now we’re on to dinner. I debated cooking chicken but then remembered the frozen veggie chili. Sweet. So that’s what we had, topped with cheese and sour cream.
Here’s Little Man before his bath tonight. Doesn’t he look excited?
This is the first bath that he hasn’t screamed through… progress!
Well I’m off to bed. Let’s just ignore the fact that it’s not even 8:30, mmkay? Night!
