Happy 2010!

Sooo, I obviously didn’t get around to posting on Thursday… but that just means I have LOTS of stuff to report tonight :)

First off, the Old 97′s concert was awesome. Brian and I definitely enjoyed our first real “grown-up” night out. Props to Gia and Grandpa for babysitting. We got to hang out with great friends-

Robert “Can I Have Four Beers?” Wallace

God, I look tired. I can’t even count how many Old 97′s shows Lauren and I have attended together since we were in high school. Millions.

We also got to see Joy & Chip, Zach and a bunch of other friends. Good times.

On Thursday Jack and I hung out at home until Brian got off work. Jack discovered the mobile hanging over his Pack N Play.

Wait, wait… what’s this?

It plays music AND moves around????

OMG!!! No, Senor! It’s too much!

Hehe. Obviously I have way too much time on my hands… and an unfortunate lack of adult conversation.

We spent New Year’s Eve at the lake with my parents. They prepared an awesome dinner- steak, potato casserole and caesar salad. The best part? They held The Senator so we could eat.

We watched The Hangover… aaaand were asleep by 12:05. Don’t be jealous.

On Saturday we managed to clean the house- huge sigh of relief. Lauren and Robert invited us over for dinner, where Lauren had prepared these AMAZING shrimp phyllo pocket thingies.

I don’t know the proper name, but she said that the recipe is from The Pioneer Woman. Oh wait, here they are.

Robert and Brian forced us to watch numerous episodes of Dirty Jobs (GROSS) while Lauren and I cuddled our respective babies on the couch.

Awww.

This morning Brian was a saint and watched Jack for a couple of hours so I could sleep in. It’s amazing what a little extra sleep can do for you (or even more so what too LITTLE sleep does to you). We took down most of the Christmas decor, I grocery shopped at Newflower, then Miss Molly came over for a visit.

PRECIOUS.

Okay, so that’s long enough for today. Tomorrow I’m going to get all kinds of serious… it’s time to talk resolutions, and I’m trying to decide if I have the balls to share a very scary secret with you guys. I shudder just thinking about it. We shall see…

SO- have you made any resolutions for 2010? And how are they going thus far?

I’m betting that a mobile entertained me for days at a time when I was younger. They still kind of do :-)

Glad you had a good time on your grown up date :)

Aww what cute pics! :) Happy 2010!

  5. Wait. Jack has a GIANTS mobile and not a COWBOYS?!?!?! What’s up with that, Heather? He’s still adorable and I hope I get to meet him this year!
As for resolutions, I have a few, but didn’t do any of them this weekend – it was still the holiday in my opinion :)

Resolutions, yes (doesn’t mean I’m sharing, hehe). Just hoping 2010 is a better year.

Jack just gets cuter and cuter, if possible.

Oh and I bought the Pioneer Woman cookbook. Nothing low fat in there but some really good recipes. :)

Andrea – Absolutely he has a Giants mobile. He’s going to be my football watching buddy, cheering on the Giants.
