Jack was such a little angel today.
All day he was sunshine and giggles, so I didn’t worry too much when I left him and Brian to head to a Dallas food blogger happy hour. Then I get the following text from Brian:
“Wont. Stop. Crying.”
Poor guy(s). Jack is just not a night person. Except for around 4am… that’s snack time. But he is just CRANKY from like 6-10pm.
Anyway, more on that later. This morning I actually veered away from the yogurt/cereal combo and went for an equally easy meal:
Crunchy PB and Central Market Blueberry Preserves on an english muffin- and coffee. Sweet, wonderful coffee.
I was debating taking the day off from the 30 Day Shred, but then I was messing around on the internet last night and found this site. Holy crap. That’s motivation to stick with it for the next 26 days. But it is starting to hurt my knees. I finally wised up and put a towel on top of the yoga mat to add a little more cushioning during the push ups. I haven’t weighed myself or anything, but my jeans are starting to feel a little more roomy in the waist. So there’s something.
Lunch was veggie chili. Still making my way through all of the dinners I froze during the psycho prenatal nesting phase.
Topped with Food Should Taste Good Multigrain Chips, reduced-fat cheddar and sour cream.
Brian and Jack had a boys’ night tonight so I could attend the aforementioned Dallas food blogger happy hour at Trece (which had half-priced bottles of wine tonight, btw). So much fun! I didn’t snap a pic of the entire group, but there were five of us there: Emily and Natalie from The City Sisters, Natalie of Natalie’s Killer Cuisine, and Kelly of The Picky Plate (God, their blogs all look SO MUCH BETTER than mine!!).
Anyway, it was so much fun!! Luckily Jack eventually calmed down for Brian, so I was able to hang out for a bit. We shared wine and a few apps- tableside guac, lobster nachos and some type of wedge salad:
God, my photos suck. If anyone wants to buy me a new camera, I’d totally take it. Did I mention the half-price wine?
Stopped on the way home to pick up a pizza for poor Brian. Jack didn’t give him a chance to eat (OH, don’t I know it!)… so now we’re hanging out on the couch, watching the Mavs and trying to will Jack to stay asleep. Hope everyone had a great night!
