Dimples

I. Am. Exhausted. Luckily Jack had mercy on Mommy and went down at 8:30 tonight. SCORE. (Edit: It’s now 9:40 and he’s been up 4 times already. Super.)

We did have a fun weekend. On Friday Jack and I met Brian for lunch at Central Market. That place is bananas. You have to kind of hover around and then pounce on a table as soon as someone finishes their meal.

I ordered the homemade veggie burger with sweet potato fries and spicy-sweet pickles:

The burger was just okay, but the pickles were a-mazing. Next time I want to try the salmon burger.

Friday afternoon Jack and I drove up to the lakehouse with my mom. The weather was all kinds of gross so we mostly just hung out on the couch. Saturday, on the other hand, was gorgeous. I went for a nice, long run, then saddled Jack up in the stroller and we took him for a walk around the neighborhood. The run felt amazing. I still have a long way to go before I’m marathon-ready again, but it seems like The Shred has been helping my endurance a bit (speaking of, I haven’t put on the DVD since Thursday… badbadbad).

We came back into town Saturday evening for a special birthday dinner. I’ve babysat these two since they were 1 and… well, we were at the hospital the day he was born 12 YEARS AGO:

Aaron and Bradley. I hope Jack turns out just like these two. They’re still sweet to their old fart babysitter.

Brad decided to celebrate his birthday in style. First up was a stop at Barnes & Noble to meet Ozzy Osbourne (Brad is quite the rockstar himself), then dinner with his family and favorite neighbors (right? right?) at Tokyo No Hana.

Jack slept through the whole show.

Today Brian woke up with a stomach virus, so Jack and I hung out together and tried to steer clear. We met Uncle Zach and Aunt Lulu for breakfast at Another Broken Egg. I had scrambled eggs with spinach, mushrooms, bacon and cheese, breakfast potatoes, and an english muffin.

They have really good bacon here. Which works out well for me because I’ve been on a huge bacon kick lately (weird).

I’m so wiped out from watching Jack all day. I just want to crawl in bed and read. But how could you resist this precious face???

Hello, dimples! He was so proud of himself sitting up in the Bumbo.

Three months old tomorrow! How did that happen?

Dinner was a hodgepodge of stuff from the fridge. We had a package of brussels sprouts that was about to go bad, so I roasted those. We also have TONS of tomato soup leftover from last week, so I had a cup of that topped with crumbled goat cheese and an Ezekiel english muffin with Sabra hummus.

And I might have just polished off a bowl of Dreyer’s Samoa ice cream.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thanks so much for sharing Bradley’s birthday dinner with us!! It was TONS of fun. Sorry that Brian got a bug, I don’t think it was dinner related since no one else got it?????
