Hey hey. Well this is sure turning out to be a BUSY week! Jack decided to get up extra early this morning (AND after having gotten up in the middle of the night for a 2am feeding), so I dragged myself out of bed and threw together some breakfast.

A rerun of yesterday- vegan pate on plain yogurt with blueberries. Hey, if it ain’t broke…

Around 9 Jack’s friend Odie and his mom came over with their jog stroller, and we took the babies for a run. It was pre-rainstorm and actually really nice out (and by “nice” I mean under 90 degrees). I think we ran about 3 miles and then did a 2 mile cool-down walk.

Post-run beverage!

I lurve me some coconut water… as long as it’s flavored. Plain is nasty. Jack likes it, too.

For lunch we met my mom and sister-in-law (WEIRD!!! I’m still getting used to calling her that!) at Celebrity Bakery. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Dallas for this long and never actually eaten at a Celebrity.

I ordered the chicken salad plate, but then had eater’s remorse when I saw the roasted turkey. Apparently they roast the turkey daily in-house.

But the chicken salad was good. We also shared a slice of strawberry cake that was a-mazing. I made the mistake of letting Jack taste the frosting; he spent the rest of the meal yelling until we gave him more.

This afternoon was kind of a nightmare. I put Jack down for a nap right before a huge thunderstorm rolled in. He slept for about 15 minutes before the storm woke him up. I took him into the living room to play, but then not only would the big thunderclaps scare him, but then our dumbass dog would start barking, spinning in a circle and generally freaking the hell out every time she heard thunder- which just scared Jack even more.

Needless to say, I didn’t cook dinner since there was a Jack stuck to my hip.

We tried to grab a quick dinner at Tony’s, but the line was out the door. So we headed to our usual standby, Sali’s. They have a $5(ish) spaghetti & salad special. I had ziti with meatsauce and mushrooms.

Hoping I can keep the momentum going and get up to run again tomorrow morning! It puts me in such a better mood for the day… but it’s SO HARD to get out of that comfy bed. And the snuggly pug doesn’t help matters, either.

Thunderstorms will stop freaking Jack out when he’s about 13!!

when we used to have our dog and it would storm..we would find her in the empty bathtub…she would hop right in and shake like a leaf until it was over!

Good luck with the run today..I can motivate myself to walk daily..but not run. lol

Addison started the 2 am feeding pattern too – must be growth spurt time.
Glad to hear you like the baby jogger.
