Make Me A Deal

Thanks for all of the nice comments about the bookshelf! The color was a little shocking at first, but now I kind of love it.

So remember how I said that we haven’t eaten at home all week? Well, this afternoon Jack and I were at CVS (scoring tons of FREE candy for his Easter basket- thanks to this deal) when my mom called to see if we wanted to meet them for dinner at Blue Mesa. Don’t have to ask me twice; I love Blue Mesa and their insanely addictive sweet potato chips. Mmmm.

I had the street tacos- 3 tacos and 2 sides. I love how you can mix and match. Shrimp, chicken and salmon taco, along with black beans and a chicken adobe pie.

Jack went to TOWN on the black beans. He had a black bean 5 o’clock shadow when we left.

So I had the best intentions for making dinner tonight. I even had the Pioneer Woman’s spicy Dr. Pepper shredded pork in the slow cooker and prepped brussels sprouts in the sink. Eh, we’ll just eat that tomorrow night. It might have been a blessing though- I had a bite of the pulled pork and holy MOLY is it spicy. I only used 3 chipotles in adobo (as opposed to the entire can called for in the recipe). Looks like we’ll have to find another option for Jack.

My mom watched Jack for a couple hours this morning. I spent my time “off” perusing the plants at Home Depot and then on a whim ran to the Christmas Tree Shop near the Galleria. Has anyone else shopped here??? That is the most random store I’ve ever seen! No Christmas stuff (“The deals are like the day after Christmas all year long!“- from the sales clerk. Okey dokey.), but pretty much everything else you can imagine. Gardening tools, makeup, cleaning supplies, furniture, food, toys. I spent $9 and came out with Easter eggs and treat bags for Jack, makeup remover wipes and FOUR vases. These three were only $0.50 each! The colors were fug so I just spray painted them shiny lemon yellow.

Much better.

And this guy. Because it was $1.70 and quirky. I like the turquoise & orange… but who knows what the heck we’re going to do with it.

Alright. The PLAN is to get up super early tomorrow and go for a run before Jack wakes up. My life would be 257x easier if I could just drag my butt out of bed, go for a run and actually take a shower before The Senator is ready to greet the day. It would be so motivating to have all of that done and actually put on makeup for a change. But guess what? That has NEVER happened. Ever. Though there’s a first time for everything, right?

Have a great weekend!
