So I’m sick. Like 100 degree fever, achy, coughing, and the highlight- losing my lunch (literally) all over the kitchen floor. Don’t be jealous. It really just keeps getting better and better.
Luckily my sweet mom (who is recovering from the same thing herself) came over and picked Jack up after his nap so I could get some rest. Needless to say, I didn’t cook anything today… I mean, except for that can of chicken noodle soup for lunch… so here are a few internet randoms that have piqued my curiosity lately.
1. This DIY vitamin C mask.
I found a tub of pure vitamin C powder at Whole Foods for around $15, which isn’t bad considering that there are about 15 “masks” worth in the container. You just mix 1 Tbs of powder with 1/2 Tbs water, apply to your face and allow to dry for about 10 minutes, then carefully remove with a washcloth and warm water. It definitely stung a little but afterward my skin looked really glowy and felt SO SMOOTH. This is supposed to be good for repairing sun damage… and I definitely have my fair share (hello, freckles).
2. DYING to try this Smashed Chickpea and Avocado Salad. With lots of lime- yum.

4. Pretty sure Baby Girl needs this for her room. That boring white ceiling fan is not going to cut it.
6. You know what pregnant ladies love? PICKLES. I’m trying to perfect a good refrigerator pickle recipe. Last week I tried straight apple cider vinegar, which I loved but am pretty sure would scald the esophagus of most (normal) people. This week I’m giving this version a shot, but using the cider vinegar instead of white. And I just dumped all of the ingredients in a mason jar rather than dissolving the sugar & salt in hot water. We’ll see how it goes.
Alright, I’m going to go climb under the covers now.
