Mexican Chocolate

I just got home from book club. If any of you want a HILARIOUS read, I highly recommend Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson (aka, The Bloggess). It’s the type of book that makes you laugh out loud like a crazy person in the doctor’s office waiting room (where I spend all my free time these days), or wake up your husband in middle of the night to check out the photo of the raccoon wearing tiny Jams. Honestly I’m a slacker and have only made it through half the book, but I can tell you it’s a winner.

Book club was awesome, as usual. Jill picked up a family dinner from Zoe’s Kitchen: chicken kabobs, rice and Greek salad. YUM.

Taking any excuse to bake (eat) cake, I brought this Cinnamon Chocolate Pound Cake.

I’ve said it before, but Cinnamon + chocolate = best combination ever. I liked that this cake wasn’t overly sweet… though I did throw in a cup of chocolate chips. My only complaint was that it was a little dry. Next time I’ll probably check it after an hour in the oven.

Jack and I had it for breakfast this morning.

Doctor’s appointment this afternoon was uneventful. Apparently I’m terrible at having babies. Were it not for c-sections, Jack would probably still be hanging out in there.
