Isla and I had a nice little mommy/daughter day. It’s WEIRD not having Jack here. I made Brian turn on Jack’s sound machine last night because I couldn’t sleep with the house so quiet.
First off, remember how I told you that my friend Leeanne brought us dinner last night? Well it was amazing. Pioneer Woman’s meatballs on Hawaiian buns with provolone = meatball sliders. Genius.
I had them for lunch today, too.
This morning I had a doctor’s appointment and Brian came with me. I was signing in at the desk when I hear Brian start freaking out behind me. He was playing with Isla in her carrier and she started busting out with these GIANT smiles. Like real, social smiles- not gas. I managed to eek a few out of her this afternoon, too.
Check this out.

Pretty crazy, right? They really look SO much alike. I love those little crooked smiles!
Tonight we grabbed dinner at Mariano’s, which was almost like a real date because Isla just snoozed away and we didn’t have anyone yelling, “MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY!!” between every word out of my mouth. Oh, and I didn’t have to order based on what I could share with a 2 year old.
Chicken tacos.
And of course we capped off the night as you would any good date: With a trip to Target.
Oh wow, it’s Thursday, isn’t it?? Crazy. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

How long is Jack staying with your parents? How long will Jack be contagious?
He stayed with them Wednesday & Thursday night, then came back on Friday evening. I’m not sure how long he was (is?) technically contagious- from what I’ve read online, it seems like they’re most contagious during the incubation period before the bumps actually appear, so hopefully we’re in the clear
