Early Bird

So today I feel a LOT better, which is good because I had to be up at 5:45 to get Isla to her hip sonogram. We are so not morning people around here. Well, maybe one of us is:

Oh, heyyyyy.

The sono went well. It was quick and painless (she didn’t make a peep) but we won’t get the results back until probably the end of the week.

Today was Jack’s last day of Mother’s Day Out before they take the month of August off (EEEEEEEK). My mom took Isla and I to lunch- I’m slowly trying to add foods back to my diet and I’ve really, really missed eating out. We ended up at our neighborhood Thai restaurant, Tukta Thai. I had the same thing I always get- chicken, broccoli & carrots in a cilantro-black pepper sauce.

So far, so good on the food front. Woohoo!

Tonight Linda, Lauren and Caroline brought over our dinner. Brian is working late so it was especially helpful to have dinner all ready to go. Evenings are killer with 2 kids. It’s impossible to cook dinner, prep Jack’s plate, then feed him and myself without Isla screaming. Tonight I even tried her in the Moby wrap and she was having no part of that. Ugh.

Anyway, they brought us fresh pasta, salad, tomato sauce and meatballs from Carbone’s. I’d never heard of this place but the pasta was great and the meatballs were amaaaaazing. Jack ate four of them.

Oh, they also brought us a bottle of wine, which I very easily could have downed all by myself tonight. I opted to save it for a special occasion.

It’s 10:40, Isla’s chilling in the nap nanny, watching The Office and looking completely uninterested in anything remotely like sleep. Lord help me.

I tried the sling with Tom several times and ended up taking it back. I really wanted it to work because it would have made things so much easier around here. Oh well. We have a Baby Bjorn from when Tripp was born. Again, it was never used. Maybe things will be different this time around.

So glad to hear you’re feeling better! And how cute is Isla?! I love how girl-ed up she always is! :)
