Up All Night

Isla has been doing amazingly well at night for the past couple of weeks. We put her down around 10 or 11, then she sleeps until 7 (unless I go for a run, in which case we wake her up at 6 to eat before I head out), eats and then goes right back to sleep until about 9. AWESOME. I know that’s pretty fantastic and I guess we got a little spoiled because last night we went to bed at midnight… then she was up at two… and again at 5:30… which was not so great because my alarm was set to go off at 6 to run. And then she was wide awake after that. Like, “That’s right, suckas! You don’t KNOW ME.

And that is why I’m about to pass out on the keyboard.

This morning we headed over to Allison’s for a little playdate. Jack had a blast eating donuts and playing all of the toys, and Isla chilled with her girlfriends, Harper & Caroline.

This afternoon Jack and I built a Lego zoo. Brian thinks it’s weird that I don’t make Jack put pants back on after his nap, but he’s so darn cute with his bed head, little diaper and tee shirt. Right?

Tonight my sweet friend Leigh Ann brought us dinner. This was a great thing, not only because the food was fabulous, but also because we had zero food in the house.

Turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes, roasted green beans:

Caprese salad. Jack and I ate before Brian got home, and I was seriously tempted to take down this entire bowl myself and leave none for Bri. He’d never know.

And now I’m having my “dessert”: Pumpkin beer & pumpkin cookie. Told you I’m ready for fall.

Tom feeds every 2 to 3 hours at night. It can be quite exhausting. His sleeping pattern during the day is so much better. If only we could reverse the two…
