Isla had her 4 month appointment today. Little lady is almost 14 lbs! She’s right at the 50-60th percentile for weight, height and head- which is SO different from her big brother. He’s always been like 30% weight, 60% height and +95% head circumference.
Jack still has that gross cough, so per our pediatrician (lucky that we already had an appointment for today!) I gave him a little Benadryl before his nap… and then Isla was sleepy from her vaccinations, so they both took monster naps this afternoon. Isla slept from 12:30-5:30 with a little snack break in the middle- I may be regretting that when she’s raring to go at 3am, huh?
Tonight I was going to make turkey bolognese but then decided that I would rather snuggle with my little sickie on the couch:
My mom snagged a bag of frozen garlic naan at Trader Joe’s a while back and gave us half. SO, tonight I made a couple of personal pizzas for the big kids (Jack wouldn’t have touched these with a 10 foot pole, and you’re about to see why):
The toppings? Shaved brussels sprouts and bacon. YUM. My Trader Joe’s guru Kate tipped me off on this. Here’s what I did: Placed FROZEN naan on baking sheet. Topped with pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella. Cooked 4 slices of diced turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy and then added half a bag of TJ’s shredded brussels sprouts. Sauteed for a couple minutes so the sprouts absorbed some of the bacon-y goodness, then sprinkled the brussels sprouts and bacon over the pizzas. Baked at 425 for about 18 minutes.
So good. I was worried about sogginess but the naan actually got really crispy. I will definitely be picking up another bag on my next Trader’s Joe’s trip… which may or may not be tomorrow, depending on if little man is well enough for school.
