It’s midnight and Brian and I JUST ate dinner. It’s funny- this is the type of thing that we would have been all over in college after a night of partying. And now it’s what we eat after a crazy night of… test driving mom cars. As of right now it sounds like we’re trying to decide between the GMC Acadia and the Toyota Highlander. Any thoughts/recommendations? I’ve been a Toyota gal for forever but I like 2nd row captain’s chairs in the Acadia.
I’m probably the only person in Dallas who hadn’t tried Quesa-D-Ya’s until tonight. I didn’t realize that they make GIANT (like pizza-sized) quesadillas, which is a pretty fantastic concept. We kind of defaulted to that tonight because it was 10:30 and nothing else was open. We ordered the Bruschetta D-Ya, with grilled chicken, basil, sun dried tomatoes, balsamic and mozzarella.
Pretty good! I just wish they delivered to us…
So I think I’m DONE Christmas shopping, except for one more small gift. Holla!! Now I just need to assemble food gifts for friends and that’s basically it. It’s a Christmas miracle.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Acadia!! I love mine, and think it’ll work for us for a LONG time. The only thing that bugs me even a little is the “miles to empty” feature. It tells you exactly how many miles to empty you have until about 30 miles, and then when you get below that is just says “Range Low”, so you have to kind of guess from that point on. I probably shouldn’t let my fuel get that low with kids in the car, anyway. It’s a minor inconvenience, and literally the only negative thing I can think to say about it. I drove a Toyota before this too, and I’ve been just as impressed with GMC…no issues whatsoever in the 9 months I’ve had it. The Highlanders seem nice too, although I’ve never driven one. Good luck with yall’s decision!
This so un-American of me, but I don’t trust American cars as far as I can push them. Japanese all the way, so I say Highlander! And now you’re scaring me because we just bought a Prius for me (as a commuter car since I drive so much) and I was like, I can totally have two kids with this car – Heather does it! I’m not preggo BTW, just thinking ahead…
The Prius really isn’t terrible with two kids- there’s plenty of space in the back for both car seats, and I can still get a fair amount of groceries in the trunk, even with the giant double stroller back there. We just wanted the option of a 3rd row. But I LOVE the Prius and I’m definitely going to miss only filling up every 2 weeks!!
I love my Murano, but it doesn’t have third row seating. There is plenty of cargo space for groceries and strollers. Third row seating would be nice. Both the Highlander and Acadia are very popular in our area. I don’t think you could go wrong with either one.
Love my Acadia. Let me know if you have questions. It’s great and I feel safe! Captains chairs are also good. Fits in our garage and my 6’6 husband is comfortable driving it!
