It was a big weekend of “firsts” around here! On Saturday morning we took Jack to his first movie:
The Studio Movie Grill by our house shows kid movies on Saturday mornings for $2. This week it was a Chuggington cartoon. It’s only an hour long (though that’s a LOT of Chuggington), but he did great! I think the popcorn and pizza helped keep him occupied.
Also a big first?? Isla’s in a high chair!
We used to put her in the exersaucer while we ate, but she would get bored and start whining within 5 minutes and we’d end up passing her back and forth while we ate. She LOVES sitting at the table with us. We also converted Jack’s high chair into a booster (ridiculously long overdue) and he basically thinks he’s an adult now.
For dinner I made another batch of that turkey taco soup from a couple of weeks ago. Along with it I tried this baked parmesan zucchini. I just cut a zucchini into rounds, placed the slices on a foil-lined baking sheet, misted it with an olive oil spray, then sprinkled on some grated parm…
Broiled for a few minutes until the cheese started to brown.
I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a huge zucchini fan, so anything that makes it more palatable (CHEESE!!) is great in my book. Yum.
We made an Ikea trip today for the high chair and of course came home with a bunch of other crap- underbed storage, a portable potty for Jack, cute napkins, etc. I also snapped some pics of other awesome stuff that Brian talked me out of buying (dammit).
And the cutest thing in the store, obvs…
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
