All Good Things

If you’ve had a baby, you know that about 4 months after the birth, your hair starts falling out like craaaaazy. I remember it happening with Jack, but with Isla it was a million times worse. I was shedding all over the house and literally had giant bald spots. Anyway, I tried everything- biotin, coconut oil (use that shiz on EVERYTHING), vitamins- and it’s finally starting to grow back. The problem is that now I have all of these stupid looking 1 inch hairs sprouting up all over the place. I’m not sure which is worse, the balding or this.

(Not sure why I shared that… I guess so if you see me in public you’ll know why I’m rocking a mini-mullet?)

I spotted this recipe on Pinterest a few weeks ago and have been dying to try it ever since. I mean, really? Brussels sprouts, bacon, avocado, lime juice. How could it not be amazing??

The only downside was that while I was frying the bacon, Chloe stood in the kitchen and barked at me. Literally the ENTIRE TIME. Baaaaaacon. Give me baaaaaaaaaaaacon.

OMG, so so so good. We had Trader Joe’s basil pesto chicken-turkey sausage on the side. Brian asked that this meal “be added to the regular rotation.” LOL. I write a food blog; there is no regular rotation (but NOTED, Bri).

At first Isla was having no part of baby food, but lately she’s been taking it down like a champ. Today I finally gave her the little mesh fruit feeder with a piece of cantaloupe inside and girl went to TOWN. She gummed it into oblivion and then started crying for more. I forgot how much fun it is introducing new foods (and fingers crossed, she seems like a good little eater!).

Night!

i LOVE that picture of Isla! She looks so much like Jack! You should use an argan oil for your hair & scalp! I swear by it!

I tried this last night and thought of you: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2008/04/chicken-milanese-with-arugula-and.html

Super simple, super healthy, and best of all, its Skinnytaste!

Next time I will brine the chicken to just give it a little more flavor, but overall this was yummy. I also added crumbled feta to the greens. :)
