This weekend my sweet, extremely talented friend Monica offered to do a photo session with Isla, so we drove out to Rockwall and had a little girly fun. Monica had all of these great ideas for outfits and props, and I knew that the pics would be cute… but seriously???
I’m totally swooning here. This is one of those moments where I think that there’s NO WAY we made this gorgeous, perfect child. Sorry, I know that’s really obnoxious coming from a parent (but if you ARE a parent, you’ve totally had this thought, right?). I couldn’t be happier with how the pics turned out.
Okay, enough gushing. Tonight for dinner I made this lightened up lasagna soup from the Deen Brothers. SO GOOD. It tastes really rich thanks to the cheese and (turkey) Italian sausage. I also threw in some mushrooms. Even Jack loved it!
On the side we had these mini grilled cheese sandwiches that my friend Kate tipped me off on (Trader Joe’s, obviously). With the roasted red peppers, they reminded me a little of pimento cheese. Perfect accompaniment to soup!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

precious, precious Isla pics, Heather! And you and B made not one but TWO gorgeous babies, so swoon away!
… and yum on that dinner too!
