I’m still getting used to having both kids in Mother’s Day Out two days per week. It’s amazing how fast the time flies- I come home, pick up the house, run a couple of errands and then it’s time to go get them. I’m trying to strike a balance with being productive and still doing a few “fun” things during that little kid-free break. For example, on Tuesday I came home, put away laundry, showered, headed over to my brother and sister-in-law’s for a little Owen-snuggling session, then met Brian for lunch downtown. The kids and I meet him for lunch every once in a while, but we always end up at one of the usual toddler-friendly standbys. It seems like I’m always hearing about restaurants that I want to try but then completely forget about them when we actually have the opportunity to visit one (speaking of… suggestions??).
Anyway, on Tuesday we ended up at Del Frisco’s Grille. ‘Twas delicious AND so nice to be able to have a meal that didn’t involve cutting food into tiny, tiny pieces or being constantly interrupted. CONSTANTLY.
Started with the cheesesteak egg rolls:
I had the seared Asian tuna salad with mango, avocado, chilled noodles and almonds. Though I’m like 99.9% sure I remember peanuts, not almonds.
Pretty, huh? It was good but a little under-seasoned. It needed either more salt or more vinegar in the dressing.
Brian had a shaved steak sandwich, which came with fries and the teeny, tiniest bottle of ketchup ever. It was kind of adorable.
Geez, remember when this blog used to involve lots of new restaurants + food pics?? Like circa March 2008-December 2009? Oh how times have changed.
