Today I took the Trader Joe’s (and came home with ALL the pumpkin things… more on that later) and afterward we headed across the street to the new Truck Yard food truck park for some ice cream.
So much fun! The lunch rush hadn’t hit yet so the kids could run around. I was excited to try the Carnival Barker’s ice cream because they had a bunch of amazing sounding flavors and creations (Fruity Pebble ice cream sandwich??). But Jack insisted on vanilla… er, “va-lilla.” Womp womp. Anyway, I’m excited to go back there for lunch soon. And maybe for a more exciting ice cream flavor.
Trader Joe’s had pumpkin everything and I bought it ALL.
Plus pumpkin rooibos tea and these weird pumpkin tree things from the floral department. What is wrong with me??
This afternoon Isla took a super short nap so we played on the patio while Jack slept. I’m trying to be less of a slacker and take more pics with my actual camera. Poor Isla. We have a million great pics of Jack as a baby, but all of hers are on my phone.
That kid. I really do try to keep her clean and her hair fixed, but within an hour she looks like a tiny hobo. Girl plays HARD.
For dinner I tried this chicken yakisoba recipe that’s floating around Pinterest. Is it sad that this recipe appealed to me because it involves ramen noodles? It’s basically a chicken + veggie stir fry with noodles mixed in. The sauce is super simple: soy sauce, worcestershire, ketchup, sugar. I doubled the sauce and probably used 3/4 of it.
Lots o’ veggies (cabbage, onion, broccoli, carrots and mushrooms):
Action shot! You’re impressed, don’t lie.
Have I mentioned how I’m selling a bunch of the kids’ clothes at a consignment sale on Friday? I’ve been pricing and tagging them all week and it’s kind of a beating. Let’s hope all this work pays off $$$.
