Happy Easter! We have a little mid-day lull before we head over to my parents’ house for dinner. The kids were up past their bedtime last night dyeing eggs:
Then Brian and I were up even later making a batch of Paula Deen’s banana pudding. All credit for banana slicing goes to Brian:
This morning the kids (well, Isla) were up bright & early to check out their baskets. I tried to set my alarm early enough to get ready before everyone woke up, but at about 7:15 I had a chipper little visitor pressing her face up against the shower door. So once she dragged Jack out of bed we headed downstairs to see what the Easter bunny brought:
After that we got the kids all dressed and headed to 10am mass. Obligatory Easter pics, since everyone is clean and hair is brushed… for a change.
After church we grabbed brunch at Neighbor’s. We don’t eat there very often, but they have a pretty solid brunch. I LOVE their pulled pork eggs benedict- plus they have $2 mimosas and really great live music. Isla spent the majority of the meal dancing.
Along with the banana pudding, per my mom’s request I’m bringing a baked bean casserole. I used this recipe but then doctored it up with cider vinegar, hot sauce, more mustard and more Worcestershire because the original recipe tasted SO sweet. It needed a little kick, IMO.
Off to get changed and head over to mom & dad’s. Happy Easter!!
